Effect of front surface engineering on high energy electron, X-ray and heavy ion generation from Relativistic laser interaction with thick high-Z targets
Dit onderzoek toont aan dat hoewel dunne plastic coatings in simulaties gunstiger zijn voor energie-overdracht, bij experimenten met een $10^{21}$ W/cm² laser op dikke tantaal-doelen de onbedekte targets de beste elektronen- en röntgenstraling opwekken, terwijl dikkere coatings zoals schuim en nanodraden juist de zware ionversnelling maximaliseren door een grotere spotgrootte.
