2. De Oplossing: De "Slimme Detective" (DNN ROI)

De auteurs bouwden een nieuw systeem genaamd DNN ROI (Region of Interest). In plaats van alleen te luisteren naar luide geluiden, fungeert dit systeem als een superslimme detective die naar het hele plaatje tegelijk kijkt.

  • Robuustheid: Zelfs wanneer de detector "glitches" had (zoals dode draden of extra ruis), raakte de AI niet in de war. Het wist de kapotte delen te negeren en zich te focussen op de werkende delen. De oude methode zou echter vaak door deze glitches worden opgelicht.

4. Waarom Het Belangrijk Is

Dit gaat niet alleen over het maken van betere afbeeldingen; het gaat over fysica. Door de data zo effectief op te schonen, kunnen de wetenschappers nu de eigenschappen van neutrino's met veel hogere precisie bestuderen.
