About Gist.Science
Making research accessible to everyone.
The story
I spent years trying to make science accessible. I wrote a popular science book about the Higgs boson. I gave over a thousand planetarium lectures to children. I went on national television and radio to explain physics.
And I realized something: it doesn't scale.
While I was explaining one paper to a hundred people, a thousand new papers were being published. No human — no matter how dedicated — can keep up.
So I built a system that can.
Gist.Science reads every new research paper, understands the full text, and creates accessible explanations using creative analogies and plain language — in ten languages. It's powered by AI, but guided by years of experience in knowing what makes a good explanation.
This is the tool I wish I had when I was giving those lectures.
How it works
Dr. Luc — PhD in Physics & AI
The tech
Gist.Science is powered by a cluster of high-end GPUs running a large AI model locally. Each paper is processed in about two minutes, generating explanations in all 10 languages. The system processes hundreds of papers daily and the archive grows every day.
