Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) as an Alternative Feed Resource for Tropical Sheep and Goat Breeds: Effects on Nutrient Utilization, Growth Performance, and Economic Returns
This study demonstrates that while replacing commercial concentrate with water hyacinth in the diets of Doyogena sheep and Woyito-Guji goats significantly reduces nutrient intake and growth performance, it remains a viable strategy for improving economic returns, with up to 75% replacement yielding the highest net income despite lower average daily gains.
