Multi-cycle sedimentary processes govern black soil formation in the Sanjiang Plain, NE China evidence from grain size and geochemical constraints
This study demonstrates that black soil formation in the Sanjiang Plain, NE China, is governed by multi-cycle sedimentary processes involving the erosion, transport, and deposition of well-sorted parent material derived from the Wandashan Mountains during the mid-Holocene, rather than being a product of first-order weathering.
