Dog Attacks on Taiwan’s Native Mammals: Potential Risk Areas, Key Drivers, and Conservation Gaps
This study integrates attack records and species distribution models to map high-risk areas for dog attacks on five native Taiwanese mammals, revealing that threats are concentrated in low-to-mid elevation human-wildlife interface zones outside protected areas, thereby highlighting the urgent need to leverage the Taiwan Ecological Network for targeted dog control and conservation.
