Parasitic Helminths (Trematoda, Nematoda, Cestoda) as Bioindicators of Heavy Metal Pollution in Marine Ecosystems: A Comparative Study on Saurida undosquamis
This study demonstrates that parasitic helminths (specifically Trematoda and Cestoda) isolated from the Brushtooth lizardfish (*Saurida undosquamis*) along the Misurata coast of Libya serve as sensitive and reliable bioindicators for monitoring heavy metal pollution, particularly showing higher accumulation of toxic metals like Cadmium and Lead during the cold season.
