Constraining the neutron star-black hole merger rate
By incorporating spin-induced orbital precession into gravitational-wave searches for the first time, this study significantly improves detection sensitivity for neutron star-black hole binaries, leading to a 16% downward revision of their estimated merger rate and the identification of four new subthreshold candidates likely of terrestrial origin.
