Diagnostic performance of the de Morton Mobility Index versus the Barthel Index in identifying self-care dependency among older adults in long-term care

This cross-sectional study of 83 long-term care residents demonstrates that while both the de Morton Mobility Index (DEMMI) and the Barthel Index effectively identify self-care dependency, the DEMMI offers superior sensitivity for older adults with severe mobility limitations by avoiding the floor effect observed in the Barthel Index.

Integrative genomic and transcriptomic analyses identify functionally relevant causal genes for exercise in a large animal model

This study integrates genomic and transcriptomic data from Thoroughbred horses to identify specific causal genes and variants underlying athletic performance traits, distinguishing between inherited genetic factors and acquired molecular responses to exercise and training.

Agar oligosaccharides mitigate lipopolysaccharide-induced apoptosis and inflammatory damage in rumen epithelial cells via the tlr4-myd88-nf-κb signaling pathway

This study demonstrates that agar oligosaccharides (AOS) mitigate lipopolysaccharide-induced apoptosis and inflammatory damage in ovine rumen epithelial cells by inhibiting the TLR4-MyD88-NF-κB signaling pathway, suggesting AOS as a potential green feed additive for alleviating ruminant metabolic diseases.

Myeloid Immune Remodeling Associated With Citrullination-Related Candidate Markers in Sepsis From a Single-Cell Perspective

This study utilizes single-cell and bulk transcriptomic analyses to demonstrate that citrullination-related candidate biomarkers (LTF, MMP9, MMP8, IL10, LCN2, and S100A12) are primarily localized to myeloid cells and serve as indicators of neutrophil activation and monocyte/macrophage regulatory remodeling in sepsis.
