Echinochloa ecotypes and its impact on yield loss of different rice cropping under irrigated agro-ecology
A 2024 field study near Dudhawa Dam revealed that *Echinochloa* ecotypes, particularly *E. colona*, caused the most significant rice yield losses in broadcasting and dry direct-seeded systems due to favorable soil seed bank germination, whereas puddled transplanting and residue burning effectively reduced infestation through seed bank disturbance and persistence reduction.
