Effects of the northeast monsoon on the distribution of dissolved metals in Tropical coastal waters
This study reveals that while the northeast monsoon influences the stability of metal-organic complexes in Mersing's coastal waters—requiring longer UV irradiation to break down ligands in August 2020 compared to April 2021—the total concentrations of dissolved Zn²⁺, Cd²⁺, Pb²⁺, and Cu²⁺ remained consistent throughout the water column in both periods due to the solubilizing effect of organic ligands.
