Prevalance of Anemia, Severity and Morphological Pattern Among Neonates Admitted in Nicu at Jowhar Regional Referal Hospital, Jowhar, Somalia.
A hospital-based study conducted at Jowhar Regional Referral Hospital in Somalia reveals a high prevalence (57.8%) of neonatal anemia, characterized by significant moderate-to-severe cases and diverse morphological patterns, which is strongly predicted by maternal factors such as lack of antenatal care, maternal anemia, and hypertension, as well as neonatal factors like low birth weight and prematurity.
