Incidence and Detection of ESC-Defined Cardiotoxicity Among Early-Stage Breast Cancer Patients Receiving Anthracycline-Based and Anti-HER2 Therapy in Qatar
This study of 133 early-stage breast cancer patients in Qatar reveals a high incidence (69.2%) of ESC-defined cardiotoxicity following anthracycline and anti-HER2 therapy, with the majority of cases being asymptomatic and detected primarily through global longitudinal strain and biomarker elevation rather than traditional ejection fraction decline, underscoring the critical need for multimodal surveillance in this population.
