Preoperative anxiety and tourniquet use are associated with early postoperative pain trajectories after total knee arthroplasty: a retrospective cohort study

In a retrospective cohort study of 236 patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty, both higher preoperative anxiety scores and the use of a tourniquet were independently associated with increased early postoperative pain, though anxiety did not modify the effect of tourniquet use on pain trajectories.

Predictive value of a combined inflammatory score based on laboratory data within 24 hours of admission for 28-day mortality in patients with sepsis: a retrospective cohort study

This retrospective cohort study of 248 sepsis patients found that while a combined inflammatory score based on procalcitonin, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio is independently associated with 28-day mortality, it offers only limited incremental prognostic value beyond established clinical indicators such as the APACHE II score, lactate, albumin, and sex.

Well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumour (WDNET) of Jugular foramen treated with radiotherapy – A rare case-report

This paper presents a rare case report of a grade 2 well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor located in the jugular foramen treated with radiotherapy, while also reviewing existing literature on the diagnosis, management, and prognosis of these rare tumors in the head and neck region.

Predictors of ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block failure in upper limb surgery: a retrospective cohort study

This retrospective cohort study of 606 upper limb surgery patients identified operator inexperience, liver disease, specific surgical sites, prolonged duration, delayed incision, and single-agent local anesthetic use as significant predictors of ultrasound-guided brachial plexus block failure, leading to the development of a clinical risk score with good discrimination to help identify high-risk patients.

Evaluation of rotational alignment in open wedge distal tibial tuberosity osteotomy using the EOS imaging system: a retrospective cohort study

This retrospective cohort study utilizing EOS imaging reveals that open-wedge distal tibial tuberosity osteotomy induces significant postoperative external rotation of the distal tibia, a change that is prevented by hinge fractures and shows a positive association with short-term symptom improvement despite lacking adverse effects on other clinical outcomes.

Evaluation of qualitative and quantitative PET parameters in primary prostate cancer patients: double-match comparison of 18F-flotufolastat- and 68Ga-PSMA-11-PET

In a matched cohort of primary prostate cancer patients, 18F-flotufolastat-PET demonstrated significantly lower urinary bladder activity and fewer artifacts compared to 68Ga-PSMA-11-PET, resulting in superior tumor-to-bladder contrast and reduced interference with the detection of primary tumors near the bladder.

Growth-Coupled Biosorption and Metabolic Regulation Enable Efficient Copper Bioremediation by Aspergillus foveolatus FX

This study demonstrates that the salt lake-derived fungus *Aspergillus foveolatus* FX effectively bioremediates copper-contaminated wastewater through a combination of growth-coupled biosorption mediated by surface functional groups and metabolic reprogramming involving upregulated detoxification pathways and suppressed siderophore biosynthesis.
