Asymmetric Modulation of Auditory-Responsive Subpopulations in the Mediodorsal Thalamus by the Prefrontal Cortex
This study demonstrates that the prefrontal cortex asymmetrically modulates distinct auditory-responsive subpopulations in the mediodorsal thalamus, selectively suppressing an anterior group to prolong behavioral reaction times while preserving sensory discrimination accuracy.
