Democratic Governance, Public Service Satisfaction, and Health Equity in Africa: A Multivariate Statistical Analysis

Using pooled Afrobarometer data from 34 African countries, this study demonstrates that while stronger democratic supply reduces barriers to health care access, higher individual democratic expectations paradoxically correlate with greater reported difficulties due to critical evaluations of government performance, yet democratic contexts overall serve to mitigate socioeconomic inequities in health access.

Cross-scale Institutional Fragmentation and Panarchic Collapse: From Extractive Traps to Nested Environmental Stewardship

By synthesizing Panarchy theory with Ostrom's institutional analysis, this study demonstrates how cross-scale institutional fragmentation in Venezuela's oil-dependent system (2014–2021) created rigidity traps that decoupled governance from ecological feedback, leading to panarchic collapse and severe environmental degradation, thereby proposing a diagnostic framework for building resilient, nested stewardship in resource-dependent states.
