Free $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ and bound-free $e^{+}e^{-}$ pair production in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

This study utilizes second-order perturbation theory and Monte Carlo integration to calculate impact-parameter-dependent cross sections for simultaneous free $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ and bound-free $e^{+}e^{-}$ pair production in relativistic $Pb+Pb$ collisions at the LHC, offering new theoretical predictions to test quantum electrodynamics in strong electromagnetic fields.
