Postoperative weight-bearing beyond recommended limits following total elbow arthroplasty: Does it matter for loosening, complications, and revisions?
This retrospective study of 51 patients found that self-reported postoperative lifting beyond the standard 5-kg limit after total elbow arthroplasty was not associated with increased rates of loosening, complications, or revision surgery, suggesting that individualized counseling may be more appropriate than rigid weight restrictions.
