Virtual Placement of Pterygoid Implants and Assessment of Critical Anatomical Parameters on Cone-Beam Computed Tomography in Turkish Patients with Severely Atrophic Maxillae
This retrospective study of 362 severely atrophic maxillae in Turkish patients over 50 years old utilized CBCT to virtually place pterygoid implants, revealing a 40.6% success rate primarily limited by inadequate clearance from the greater palatine canal, which underscores the necessity of population-specific anatomical assessment and strict safety margins for predictable treatment planning.
