Longitudinal Trends and Programmatic Gaps in Selected Neglected Tropical Disease Control Indicators in Nigeria, 2005–2023: A WHO Global Health Observatory Secondary Data Analysis
This secondary analysis of WHO Global Health Observatory data from 2005 to 2023 reveals that while Nigeria has achieved significant onchocerciasis scale-up and sustained zero human African trypanosomiasis cases, persistent treatment gaps, COVID-19-related programmatic disruptions, and surveillance fragility threaten the country's progress toward 2030 Neglected Tropical Disease elimination targets.
