Within-person increases in crisis-related distress track worsening adolescent depression, anxiety, and health-related quality of life – A post-COVID-19 longitudinal multilevel change analysis
This longitudinal study of German adolescents demonstrates that within-person increases in pandemic-related distress are significantly associated with concurrent worsening of depression, anxiety, and health-related quality of life, even after controlling for individual stressors and protective resources, highlighting the continued relevance of crisis-related distress for mental health in the post-pandemic era.
