Short-Term Outcome and Associations of Mortality in Children Admitted with Severe Malaria in a Tertiary Health Facility, in South East, Nigeria
This retrospective study of 434 children admitted with severe malaria at a tertiary hospital in South-East Nigeria reveals a 12.2% mortality rate, identifying age under five, urban residence, delayed presentation, and severe clinical complications like shock and impaired consciousness as significant independent predictors of death.
