A Tertiary Centre Experience of Flexible Bronchoscopy-Guided Airway Stenting: Indications, Techniques, Outcomes and Complications in Tracheoesophageal Fistula and Airway Stenosis
This retrospective study of 38 patients at a tertiary center demonstrates that flexible bronchoscopy-guided airway stenting using covered self-expandable metallic stents is a technically feasible and effective palliative intervention for tracheoesophageal fistulas and airway stenosis, offering significant symptom relief with an acceptable safety profile in the absence of rigid bronchoscopy.
