Elevated serum gamma-glutamyl transferase and frailty risk: evidence from prospective cohort, metabolomic, and integrative genetic evidence
This study demonstrates through prospective cohort and integrative genetic analyses that elevated serum gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels are significantly associated with an increased risk of frailty, mediated by metabolic, immune, and vascular pathways, suggesting GGT as a promising biomarker for identifying individuals at high risk.
