Associations of hs-CRP and Interleukin-6 with Diabetic Nephropathy in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Cross-Sectional Study from Uzbekistan
This cross-sectional study from Uzbekistan demonstrates that elevated levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) are independently associated with diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes, suggesting that chronic low-grade inflammation plays a significant role in the development of this kidney complication.
