Triglyceride-Glucose Index and Dysglycaemia in Adults from the Aral Sea Region of Uzbekistan: Associations with Thyroid Function and Elevated Aminotransferases
In a cross-sectional study of adults from the environmentally vulnerable Aral Sea region of Uzbekistan, the Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) index was identified as a practical and significant marker for dysglycaemia, while elevated aminotransferases were linked to metabolic risk and thyroid dysfunction appeared more closely associated with central adiposity than with glycaemic status.
