Impact of different physical examination frequencies on biochemical indicator variability in community-dwelling older adults: an 8-year retrospective cohort study
This 8-year retrospective cohort study of over 57,000 older adults in Shanghai reveals that while higher frequencies of health examinations are significantly associated with improved long-term trajectories for renal and hepatic function and LDL cholesterol, they are paradoxically linked to faster increases in BMI and triglycerides, suggesting that regular monitoring must be integrated with lifestyle interventions for comprehensive health promotion.
