Dynamic Monitoring of Procalcitonin for Early Prediction of Pancreatic Necrosis
This retrospective study of 190 acute pancreatitis patients demonstrates that a 48-hour procalcitonin (PCT) level exceeding 0.23 ng/mL is a superior independent predictor of pancreatic necrosis compared to traditional scoring systems and other biomarkers, offering a rapid and effective tool for early clinical identification.
