Interaction between acoustic intensity and focal depth in low-intensity focused ultrasound analgesia: A 2×2 factorial study in a rat model of inflammatory pain
This study demonstrates that in a rat model of inflammatory pain, shallow focal depth (3 mm) is the primary determinant of analgesic efficacy for low-intensity focused ultrasound acupuncture, significantly outperforming deeper stimulation and reversing pain-related protein upregulation without a significant interaction with acoustic intensity.
