Effect of Low-Dose Nitroglycerin on Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome in Elderly Patients after Major Surgery: A Randomized Controlled Trial
This randomized controlled trial demonstrates that intraoperative continuous infusion of low-dose nitroglycerin significantly reduces the incidence of postoperative acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) in elderly patients undergoing major surgery, particularly benefiting those who are very elderly, high-risk, or undergoing major abdominal laparoscopic procedures.
