Evaluating Predicted Coral Heat Stress Phenotypes and Microbial Associations in Nursery- Propagated Corals During a Real-World Bleaching Event
This study demonstrates that while acute heat stress assays can predict coral thermotolerance, the real-world bleaching performance of nursery-propagated corals during the 2024 mass bleaching event is critically dependent on environmental context and species identity rather than microbial associations.
