A fibroblast–myeloid niche supports stress adapted residual oesophageal adenocarcinoma after neoadjuvant chemotherapy
This study utilizes integrated single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to reveal that residual oesophageal adenocarcinoma cells surviving neoadjuvant chemotherapy are supported by a specific fibroblast–myeloid niche, highlighting that treatment resistance arises from both malignant cell plasticity and microenvironmental protection.
