Mirror of romanticism, or Novalian self-reflexivity in Dostoevskij’s Dvojnik
This article argues that Dostoevskij's *Dvojnik* utilizes Novalian concepts of self-reflexivity and the *ordo inversus* to illustrate how the protagonist Goljadkin's failure to reconcile his subjective and objective selves through moral activity results in a fatal, isolating opposition to his double rather than a unifying reconciliation.
