Crop phenological age and host–plant traits structure arthropod assemblages in Solanum melongena under a staggered cohort design (SCD)
By employing a staggered planting design to decouple plant ontogeny from meteorological variation, this study demonstrates that eggplant phenological age and associated host-plant traits are primary drivers structuring arthropod assemblages, with herbivore and predator abundances shifting predictably across vegetative and reproductive stages.
