Drivers of Land Fragmentation among Smallholder Irrigators: Evidence from Rural Ethiopia

Based on a study of 618 households in rural Ethiopia, this paper identifies that while irrigated land fragmentation is moderate, it is significantly driven by factors such as household size and market distance, while being reduced by land certification and soil fertility, suggesting that targeted policies addressing these drivers are essential for optimizing land use.

Agro-Morphological Characterization and Diversity analysis of Wainuchara (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) and Murshi (Oryza nivara Sharma & Shastry) Collected from Two Valley Districts of Manipur, Northeastern India

This study characterizes the agro-morphological diversity of ten wild rice accessions (*Oryza rufipogon* and *Oryza nivara*) from Manipur, India, using 102 descriptors and multivariate analyses to reveal distinct species-specific clustering, with *O. rufipogon* exhibiting higher morphological polymorphism and *O. nivara* displaying advantageous agronomic traits, thereby providing a scientific basis for their conservation and utilization in rice breeding programs.

Seroprevalence and risk factors of lumpy skin disease in cattle across Asia and Africa: a systematic review and meta-analysis, 2000-2025

This systematic review and meta-analysis of 20 studies involving over 13,000 cattle from 2000 to 2025 reveals a substantial pooled seroprevalence of lumpy skin disease (31.2%) across Asia and Africa, with significantly higher rates in Asia and during outbreaks, while identifying age, sex, crossbreeding, and extensive management systems as key risk factors driving the disease's spread.

Postharvest Metabolic Responses of ‘Red Chief’ Apples as Influenced by Harvest Maturity and Storage Environment

This study demonstrates that harvesting 'Red Chief' apples at intermediate maturity (148 days from full bloom) and storing them under refrigerated conditions (2°C, 95% RH) significantly preserves fruit quality and extends shelf life compared to other harvest stages or ambient storage in the North-Western Himalayan region.

Quantitative modelling of survivability and controlled release of a double-entrapped Azospirillum formulation

This study demonstrates that a double-entrapped Azospirillum formulation, combining alginate beads within a non-woven biodegradable matrix, significantly enhances bacterial storage survivability, enables controlled release, and improves plant growth and yield under both normal and salt-stress conditions compared to conventional carrier systems.

Integrative analysis of gut microbiome and metabolome reveals the growth rate differences in Dezhou donkeys

This study reveals that the superior growth performance of Dezhou donkeys is driven by a coordinated network of fiber-degrading gut bacteria and growth-promoting metabolites, whereas slow growth is associated with inflammation-linked microbes and metabolic inefficiency.

In Vivo Digestibility, In Vitro Gas Fermentation and Enteric Methane Values of Sunn Hemp’s  (Crotalaria juncea L.) as Affected by Cutting Stages

This study demonstrates that Sunn Hemp (Crotalaria juncea L.) offers superior nutritional quality, digestibility, and lower enteric methane emissions when harvested at early cutting stages, whereas delayed harvesting leads to reduced protein and energy content alongside increased methane production.
