Disulfiram Attenuates Paraquat-Induced Renal Injury and Fibrosis Associated with Modulation of Smad3/Smad7 Expression
This study demonstrates that disulfiram, particularly at a 10 mg/kg dose, significantly attenuates paraquat-induced renal injury and fibrosis in rats by mitigating oxidative stress and rebalancing the Smad3/Smad7 signaling axis, highlighting its potential as a repurposed therapeutic agent for pesticide-induced kidney damage.
